Company Profile

I studied both Architecture and Landscape Architecture and received my Bachelors of Landscape Architecture from the University of Oregon. My work first took me to San Francisco and then to New York where I became a licensed architect. I retain my license in the state of NY.

My first years practicing architecture ranged from historic preservation, corporate design, commercial and residential remodels. When an opportunity developed, I moved to Boston to start up my own business that integrated architecture and interior design for residential and commercial projects.

In 2002 I moved to Beijing for 3 years where I was involved in the design and development of a new addition to the ‘Western Academy International School’ and directed the renovation of two of my residences. I have traveled extensively in Europe but it was Asia that gave me a new approach to my views on design. The gardens of Japan reinforced my feelings that simplicity makes its own statement.

The integration of both disciplines of architecture and landscape design has allowed me to create seamless environments moving from inside to outside. After immersing myself in classic garden designs, I came away with the certainty that the elements of strong landscape design were the same as the strength of great architecture.

These principles are applied to residential, condominium projects, commercial and institutional spaces as well. The common effect throughout all my projects is harmony and timelessness. My strong sense of color, proportion and scale is a great asset that allows me to create spaces that are interesting and elegant. I follow the process of each project from conception through site analysis, design development to construction supervision.

Customer Reviews

We couldn’t be more thrilled with the work WG Design did on the landscape portion of our complete backyard renovation.

I struck gold when I discovered Wendy Glomb. I had decided on a complete redo of my back yard. All the existing plants had to go and I was ready for a new look.

I came to Wendy with the idea to transform my front yard into a Japanese style Zen garden. I was struggling to find the right person for the job, but knew my search was over when I met Wendy.

“As a commercial architect and designer, I couldn’t be more pleased to recommend WG Designs for your landscape architecture, someone who combines strong design skills with thoughtful listening, clear communication, and a genuine commitment to creating outdoor spaces that enhance the way people live.
Wendy spent time understanding how my family uses our outdoor space, our aesthetic preferences, and our priorities for planting maintenance, privacy, and entertaining. The resulting design felt both beautiful and highly personalized to our needs. Creatively, her work is lovely, elevated, and very natural. The final plan balanced structure and natural elements seamlessly, integrating hardscape, plantings, lighting, and drainage into a cohesive and timeless design.
Equally impressive was her ability to co-manage the project from concept through installation. Wendy coordinated effectively with contractors, stayed involved during construction, and consistently ensured that the work met the quality and intent of the design. Communication was clear and proactive, and any challenges that arose were handled quickly and professionally. She was transparent about costs, realistic about maintenance, and focused on creating a landscape that will mature well over time rather than simply look good at installation.
Overall, the transformation of that outdoor space has been remarkable. What was an underused yard is now a true extension of my home—an inviting place to relax, entertain, and spend time as a family. Beyond her seasoned talent, Wendy is simply a pleasure to work with: organized, responsive, and genuinely invested in client satisfaction. I would confidently recommend WG Designs to anyone looking for a thoughtful, well-executed, and lasting landscape design.”

I selected Wendy for my pool project because she had designed the garden for the prior owner and it was absolutely stunning. Wendy has a great eye and is very knowledgeable about plants. Obtaining the pool permit was no easy task and she handled all the details for me which was very reassuring. She’s not only skilled but also fun to work with day to day. I highly recommend Wendy based on my years of working with her to create a beautifully landscaped yard.
